Document Preparation
There are some essential basic requirements for any business employing staff. We can help you keep in line with current employment law legislation:
The Contract – If your company is just starting to employ people for the first time we can help you decide which is the best contract for your business. Maybe it is a casual contract or a subcontract? Or you may want an employment contract and disciplinary & grievance procedure. Just so you are aware, it is a legal requirement that all employees are issued a contract within 8 weeks of joining your organisation.
The Handbook – We can help companies compile an employee handbook, induction booklet or a policies and procedures manual. These can be as detailed as you wish and adapted to your specific needs. It can be helpful to incorporate company policies and procedures into one document and call it a ‘staff handbook’. Or you could have an ‘induction booklet’ to include all those important subjects, such as a list of current employees, phone numbers, assembly meeting point, holiday process, sickness process and anything else that you feel is important to your business, that you would like to share with your new members of staff on their first day.
If you have an induction booklet it may then be necessary to have a separate more formal ‘Policies and Procedures Manual’ which would have details of all your company policies that you can refer to as and when you or your staff need to. The cost for these documents is dependent on the size of the handbook and how many policies and contracts you require. Prices will start at £250 which is the cost of an Employment Contract and a Disciplinary & Grievance Procedure. You may already have a handbook in place but would like to add a new policy; we can help with that too. We can also provide letters and step by step guides for any employment situation.
Policies you may wish to include:
Annual Leave, Sickness, Other Leave e.g. Compassionate, Equal Opportunities, Disciplinary, Grievance, Harassment and Bullying, Recruitment, Maternity, Paternity, Adoption, Parental Leave, Shared Parental Leave, Flexible Working, Performance/Capability, Health and Safety, Social Media, Email and Internet Use, Smoking, Substance Abuse, Anti-Bribery, Jury Service, Conflicts of Interest, Right to Search, Return of Company Property, Care of Company Property, Intellectual Property Rights, Patents, Copyrights and Designs, Passwords, Use of Company and Personal Mobile Phones, Mobile Phones and Driving, Using Your Own Vehicle for Company Business, Expenses, Training, Complaints, Gifts and Gratuities, Display Screen Equipment, Personal Property, Data Protection, Whistleblowing, Adverse Weather Conditions, Dress and Appearance, Building Security
Pay As You Go
We understand that some companies prefer to call us in only when they need HR support. There may be a one off incident that you need help with; if this is the case we would agree an hourly rate or a fixed price for the project. A specific issue or project could be: disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, dismissal, appeal, redundancy, maternity, paternity, flexible working request or exit interview.
Retained HR Support
We can be available Monday – Friday 9-5pm with advice and support for your queries on staff issues, offering you the peace of mind of knowing that efficient and effective HR expertise is always just a phone call away. We would agree a fixed monthly fee for providing HR support.
The cost of this service is dependent on the number of employees in your company. You then have unlimited access to HR advice and support as and when you need it. Some weeks you may not have any issues at all, other weeks there may be a performance issue, for example an employee isn’t working at the level you would expect, or their sickness level is higher than you would like. Perhaps someone has raised a grievance or you would like to extend a probation period. We would offer you the guidance and support that you need on how to deal with your staffing issues.
Full HR Outsourcing
This product offers you all the benefits of an in-house HR person, but for a fraction of the cost. Duties include: assisting with recruitment, reference checks, contracts, probation review, organising appraisals, advice on any disciplinaries or redundancies, exit interviews, monitoring holiday and sickness leave and ensuring that all the company’s documents are up to date. Companies that would benefit from this service would have between 10-100 employees.
The cost to provide the full service depends on your head count. We have a sliding scale of charges based on the number of employees in your business. In addition, there will be an initial set-up charge, equivalent to one month’s fee.
We get to know your staff and take over the management of all employee files. All documentation is scanned and held on a secure and accessible cloud-based HR System. All staff will have access to their own file and managers will have access to their staff.
With this service there is an option for a monthly or quarterly site visit. This will enable us to get to know you, your business, the culture and your staff. You get a complete end to end HR Service without any extra headcount.
